#41 – WEBSITE BUSINESS
The adventure: Website Design
Always wanted your very own website where you can blog away – or even market your own business?
Well, when it was suggested to me that I should develope a website for all the adventures I’ve been on, I thought it was a great idea but didn’t even know where to even begin.
What did I know about website design?
Nothing.
So when I made the decision to actually do something about sharing my monthly adventures with the entire world, I realized the time had come for an entirely new kind of adventure – one that involved computers and technology.
I proceeded to teach myself website design through any means possible – books, online sources – pretty much whatever I could lay my hands on. And finally after the better part of a year, I launched Monthly Adventure. But what I didn’t expect was the number of requests to build websites for other people.
So I did what any self-respecting entrepreneur did…I launched a brand new website and started charging people for my services. I’ve made between 20 and 30 different websites.
But…since then, life has gotten so busy with my full time job and adventure that I’ve had very little time to work on the side doing websites. I’ve shut down my website business for the time being.
SAUNDERS FAMILY FARM
This website promotes a family run business that sells jams & jellies. By using an e-commerce web business, Saunders Family Farm is able to spread their business anywhere in the world.
SATORI AT GRACE BAY
This website was created to promote a gorgeous vacation rental home in the Turks & Caicos, located in the West Indes. The website features an online booking system, mapping, videos. Check out the website and book yourself a vacation!
BTF CONCRETE SERVICES
This website was created to promote a company that specializes in concrete services based out of Calgary, Alberta. The website features video and gallery images of their work, showing before and after images. Website is completed, but awaiting launch date.
QUALITY OF LIFE WITH MS
This website was created to share the story of a woman who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1997. She shares her experiences – of what life was like as an athlete and an avid outdoors woman to what her life has become, as she now lives in a wheelchair.
KNIGHT BRIDGE SERVICE
Remember these guys? My Knights in Shining Armour!! They asked me to create a website for them so as to promote their small, family run, automotive business. It features a moving slider that highlights the business as well as a ‘mapping and directions’ page that allows the client to input their personal address in order to get directions. Social networking to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are linked with the website.
PATRICIA TAYLOR
I created this website for myself in order to have a ‘Landing Page’ for me and all the different things I’m involved in.
