#42 – FILM EXTRA

The Adventure: Movie STAR (aka film extra)

I’ve never been a film before, so when I was asked to participate as an extra, it kind of excited me.

After all, who doesn’t want their 15 seconds of fame?

I didn’t really have to do too much, after all, it was all background work. All I had to do was walk up to my brother, have some explicit words with him, shove him against the wall because he’s such an extreme jerk, then go on my merry way.

Repeatedly. Over and over again. Shot from different angles.

It was kind of cool – I had no idea it worked like that.

The short film was for graduation project by Vicky Van who has since moved on as a professional filmographer and director. She even did my video submission for a TED Talk in Vancouver.

Without question, Life is a stage where we are all actors just playing our parts…so who knows…maybe after this experience I’ll submit my name to a film company. There is plenty of need for extras in Hollywood North.
